Royal Trinity Hospice launches The 130 Challenge to mark 130 years of care

Royal Trinity Hospice, the country's oldest hospice, is marking its milestone 130th anniversary by launching an exciting new fundraising challenge.

Trinity's 130 Challenge asks supporters to think of a challenge based around the number 130 and pledge to raise £130 by completing it. The charity is encouraging people to be as creative as they can with their 130 Challenge as they raise vital funds for central and south west London’s local hospice.

Last year Trinity provided patient and family care and support to over 4,000 people throughout Wandsworth and in parts of Westminster, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, Merton, Lambeth and Richmond upon Thames.

Now in its landmark 130th year, the charity is inviting its local community to celebrate Trinity’s past and make a mark on their future as the hospice emerges from the challenges of the pandemic. All funds raised will support the free end of life and palliative care that Trinity’s specialist team delivers in their Clapham base and in people’s homes across London.

Anthony Davison, Director of Fundraising at Royal Trinity Hospice said:

“One hundred and thirty years ago it was the generosity of the local community that brought the hospice to life by raising £1,000 through an appeal for donations in The Times newspaper.

While a lot has changed for our hospice since 1891, the incredible support of our community has been a constant, especially after this last, most difficult year. Whether you’re an individual or a family, a school or a business, we hope that supporters new and old throughout our community will take on the 130 Challenge and help fund free specialist care for all who need us.

The best thing about the 130 Challenge is that it’s accessible to every age and ability – you don’t need to be fit or fast or have any special equipment. I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with and to start fundraising for my own 130 Challenge!”

After registering your 130 Challenge you'll receive your Trinity t-shirt and fundraising pack, as well as tailored support from the team to make it happen.
