Client Work

Our clients present with a wide range of issues including (but not limited to) the effects of illness and treatment, family dynamics and communication, coping with loss and change, anxiety, depression and complicated grief.

Clients can be seen for as long as they need to work with their illness or adjust sufficiently to their bereavement; however sessions cannot be extended into general therapy.  The duration of the sessions is monitored and reviewed with the client and in supervision.  We encourage an 8 session model with opportunities for extension of sessions based on client and therapeutic need.

Could you become a Volunteer Arts Therapist for Trinity Hospice?

All that we ask from you is a minimum commitment of 3-5 hours per week for 9-12 months. The number of clients seen will be mutually agreed.

What can we offer you?

  • An opportunity to develop new and existing skills and to enhance your understanding of the uniqueness of each person’s journey.
  • An induction to Trinity Hospice plus an induction to the Patient and Family Support team policies and procedures and an introduction to working with bereavement and grief.
  • Opportunities to attend Trinity Hospice training programmes
  • Supervision in-house by a qualified and experienced Arts Psychotherapist, registered with appropriate governing body such as HCPC and BAAT.
