Royal Trinity Hospice has a number of charity collection tins circulated throughout our south west and central London catchment in cafes, pubs, shops and other local businesses. Donation tins provide a vital source of funds from our local community. Trinity require reliable and trustworthy volunteers to help collect donation tins on a weekly basis, returning them to the hospice and dropping new collection tins to each venue.

Please note this role needs to be fulfilled within office hours (Monday to Friday 9am-5pm).

Key responsibilities

  • Under direction of the fundraising team collect and drop off new collection tins
  • Travel to and from the hospice to various community venues
  • Ensure safe handling of cash donations
  • Inform fundraising team of any collection issues
  • Provide a friendly and warm service to those who host our collection tins
  • Inform venues of any change in collection schedules, etc
  • This role includes basic admin using word or excel

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Well-organised, efficient and enthusiastic
  • Passionate about charity work and the work of our hospice
  • Able to work independently and experience of team working
  • Able to travel independently between hospice and community venues via own transport or safely on public transport
  • Trustworthy and reliable

Mandatory training

All volunteers must attend a short induction and complete some online online e-learning. The volunteer induction covers health & safety, confidentiality and all the necessary information a volunteer needs prior to undertaking their role.
