Context

The Education team support a wide range of learning both for the staff and volunteers at the Hospice and from external organisations, as well as students on a variety of professional courses.

Our administrative volunteer will work closely with the Education Team, especially the Practice Development Nurse, on a wide range of tasks that are likely to include:

Key responsibilities

  • Booking people on education events and respond to enquiries.
  • Update the education diary
  • Help keep accurate records of educational activity, such as those attending learning events and external learners.
  • Book venues at the Hospice for learning activities
  • Maintain the electronic filing system in a way that educational material can be accessed efficiently.
  • Format education material, providing copies as required.
  • Liaise with those who have agreed to teach, providing them with details of people attending.

Required skills and competencies

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Well-organised, efficient and enthusiastic
  • Confident with Microsoft Office applications with a basic competency level as per Trinity’s IT competency checklist (see appendix 1) Including Word, Excel, Powerpoint,
  • Able to work independently and with a team.
  • Discretion and tact.
  • Trustworthy and reliable
