Royal Trinity Dementia Group Volunteer Our small team of volunteers support patients to get the most out of the activities on offer, and provide practical support, e.g. setting up the room and organising refreshments. The Monday Club is a 12 week programme designed to support people with moderate dementia, and is for 4 hours per week (10.30am-2.30pm). Monday Club is facilitated by volunteers with support from the outpatient nurse and our dementia specialist nurses. We ask that volunteers commit to the entire 12 week programme and are available on occasion to support our transport team by escorting patients to and from the group on our Minibus. Experience of supporting people with dementia is helpful, but not essential as training will be provided. Key responsibilities Support patients to take part in the group, creating a welcoming and safe atmosphere A lead volunteer will ensure sessions run smoothly and on time Support the group facilitator by setting up the room, e.g. preparing refreshments Help with organising/serving lunch Giving information about Trinity’s services What this role will offer you You will be making an important contribution to Trinity and to the thousands of people who use our services. The opportunity to develop your communication and interpersonal skills and gain experience of organising and delivering group activities.
