Trinity has been shortlisted in the Student Placement of the Year: Community category at the annual Student Nursing Times Awards, which will be held in April. The shortlisted project focuses on the experiences of nursing students from King's College London & Kingston St George's University and how they are enhanced during a placement at Trinity.

The Student Nursing Times Awards recognises students and graduates who go the extra mile and mentors and educators who put student experience first. Nearly 200 entrants to the awards have been shortlisted across 19 different categories.

Trinity provides training and education on end of life care to health and social care professionals within our catchment area. During the last academic year student numbers from a variety of professions have increased. We have student nurses coming for second year, third year, final, elective and special interest day placements, as well as Return to Practice students. Placement nurses are able to grow their knowledge and experience by spending time on our inpatient unit as well as in our community and outpatients services.

Trinity's Chief Executive Dallas Pounds said: “Our commitment to ensuring as many people as possible benefit from our expertise through education is part of Trinity’s mission and is grounded in so much of what we do here. I am delighted that our student nursing placement has been shortlisted for a Student Nursing Times award.

The fact that students continuously request to be placed at Trinity is testament to the quality of the placements we offer, the time our students have to spend with their patients and the support and development opportunities offered by our fantastic mentors and specialist nurses”.
