On 8-14 October we celebrated Hospice Care Week. Hospices came together and shouted “I #HeartMyHospice” across social media and discussed the importance of hospice care.

During the week we shared stories, dressed in yellow and educated the general public that there’s more to hospice care than doctors and nurses.

If you missed out on the action or want to relive the week, then here are the best bits;

1. #HeartMyHospice

Using the hashtag #HeartMyHospice you took to social media and shared your stories, comments and experiences of Trinity and we were overwhelmed by the compliments.

Read more comments on the full Facebook post here.

2. Hospice Care Tree

Another way you shared why you love Trinity was on the Hospice Care Week Tree in reception.

Once again we were completely overwhelmed by your kind words.

3. #GoYellow

The whole team at Trinity got stuck in! Staff from all different departments got together and wore yellow to show support to the cause and mark the occasion.

Our Retail team got involved too with HQ all in yellow and fashion-forward yellow displays across our shops.

Of course, we couldn’t forget this guy and his little yellow jacket

Also not forgetting the perfectly timed bus that crept into the background of this photo from our Waterloo shop.

4. More than nurses

One of the crucial points of the week was to change the way hospice care is perceived and show the different kinds of care and support that patients and their families receive.

We spoke to Tess from WEoLCCS, Michael from Spiritual Care, Koren from Occupational Therapy and Community Nurse Specialist Bethan to show there’s more to Trinity than the inpatient unit.

Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun for Hospice Care Week, shared their stories and helped us shout I #HeartMyHospice!
