Our Hammersmith store re-opened last week following an incredible transformation into a new-look boutique shop inspired by the inviting laid back style of big high street retailers.

We are now calling for more volunteers to help the store raise as much as possible to support patients and families affected by life-limiting illness in our community, many of whom are cared for at their homes a stone’s throw from the shop.

More than 300 volunteers have joined us already in our shops, online business and busy retail office, helping raise over £4 million each year in supporting us to provide free, skilled compassionate end of life care. Our shop volunteering roles provide an opportunity to gain an NVQ in retail as well as developing customer service and retail skills.

Andreea Burcescu, manager of Trinity’s Hammersmith shop said: “We’re so proud of the revamped shop and of the way our local Hammersmith community supports the hospice.

Our volunteers really are part of the team. There is a lot more to retail volunteering than people think. It’s creative, sociable and flexible. The way I see it is volunteering at a Trinity shop gives you twice the motivation – you get the chance to build your skills and confidence in a friendly and really beautiful retail environment, and you also get to know that every sale and every donation helps the hospice to support more people right here in our community.”

Valentine Souyri volunteers in Trinity’s Hammersmith’s shop. He said: “I can’t say enough about how great I’ve found volunteering at Trinity’s Hammersmith shop. The social aspect of volunteering and the chance to meet new people is great. I particularly enjoy sorting newly donated goods, it’s a bit like opening presents; you never know what you’re going to find!”

Volunteers need to be aged 18 or over to volunteer in our shops.
