Sister/Charge Nurse Band 6 Registered Nurse - AFC banding points 21-29

Salary: £36,481-£44,044 pa

Hours: 37.5 per week

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Sister/Charge Nurse who can drive forward Trinity’s vision and values and ensure safe, high quality care for patients, making a real difference to the lives of people affected by serious long-term conditions. You will support and lead a diverse team in providing quality, specialist palliative care to our patients in our 28 bed Inpatient Unit.

Responsibilities of a Royal Trinity Hospice Sister/Charge Nurse

  • Lead on the planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based nursing care for patients and their carers.
  • Line management of Band 5 Staff Nurses and IPU Healthcare Assistants.
  • In the absence of the ward managers within the hospice, to undertake the role of Nurse-In-Charge (NIC).
  • Act as a Clinical Shift Leader for the ward.
  • Anticipate the changing needs of patients and families.
  • To not only want to develop yourself but also those within your team.

Skills and experience required

  • Hold an up to date NMC registration.
  • Band 5 and/or 6 experience supported by up to date professional and clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Have the ability to lead or manage, with a flexible approach and proactive mindset.
  • Show a passion for working with and supporting the needs of adults with a life-limiting condition, with a real commitment to delivering the highest level of care at all times.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
