Counsellor - Bank

Salary: £30/session

Hours: Bank

Royal Trinity Hospice is a leading provider of specialist palliative care for people who have a progressive, life limiting condition. Our specialist teams provide a range of services so we can deliver expert and compassionate end of life care, support and advice to
patients and those close to them. By joining the Trinity Bank you’ll be working alongside a dedicated team with a shared ambition to
provide the best quality care for our clients, helping them to make the best of every moment.

In order to alleviate emotional, spiritual and psychological distress, the Patient and Family Support (PAFS) service provides specialist
counselling to patients as well as their friends and family. We work with the people that need us throughout a patient’s end of life and
into bereavement. As part of this service, our team of counsellors provides confidential sessions to individuals, couples and groups.
We are looking to recruit a number of dynamic and independent individuals to our bank.

We will offer bank staff agreed assignments to support our team of permanent counsellors in providing psychological services. If you want to join us, you will share our commitment to excellence, continuous improvement and development. If you are looking for a new opportunity and are passionate about delivering high quality therapeutic interventions then this could be the perfect fit for you.

Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic we have worked hard to ensure clients continue to receive the best care despite the
circumstances. The successful candidates will play an important part in ensuring that the PAFS service continues to be effective and
resilient as the pandemic continues to generate new challenges. As such, we are looking to recruit individuals who feel confident in
working with clients online or over the phone.

Commitment and responsibilities

  • Minimum commitment of 1 hour per week for at least 8 weeks per assignment (exact timings will be flexible and mutually agreed with the client/service and bank counsellor).
  • Accountability for ensuring that own practise meets national standards and is compliant with your professional code of conduct and code of ethics.
  • Delivering clinical practice in accordance with relevant legislation involving Safeguarding Adults and Children and the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Ensuring you work within Royal Trinity Hospice’s organisational policies and protocols.
  • Able to deliver counselling securely and confidentially over the phone or via video call platforms.
