About the role:

Our Trinity Driver's Buddy Volunteer will provide support to our driver and our shops office, collecting and dropping off goods within our shops network and helping with navigation through London.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • To accompany the driver with collections from various locations
  • To help with any queries and encourage donations
  • To help with directions and finding a parking space
  • To ensure safe handling and manoeuvring at all times
  • Ensuring the van is tidy and clean
  • To encourage Gift Aid sign ups
  • Collecting donations and loading them onto the van
  • Ensuring our supporters are thanked
  • To thank people donating goods

Requirements and recommendations:

  • All applicants must be aged 16 and over
  • Dates and Times: Monday – Friday, 7:30am start (at Weir Road, and then out on the day’s delivery/pick up)
  • For this role we recommend you have a good level of physical fitness, as manual handling is required

Mandatory Training:

  • Gift Aid training
  • Manual handling training
  • Retail Induction (health and safety; customer service; till training; stock)
  • After interview, should applicants be successful, we will take up two references and expect candidates to complete some online training followed by a day induction. Volunteers within the hospice may require a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check completed; this check will be carried out free of charge by Trinity.
