Royal Trinity Hospice Elizabeth Story

"My name is Elizabeth. I come to the exercise group every week, it’s lovely. It’s good for your health and it’s good for your head. It’s made me very happy and the staff look after you– sometimes I think I can do things on my own that I can’t manage and they are there to help make sure you’re not going to hurt yourself or fall down.

We do all kinds of exercises in the group and it’s helped me to do things that I struggled with before. That’s what you need when you’re old – help to keep moving!

When you come through the door at Trinity you feel happiness. The very first time I came to Trinity I felt at home. You’re welcomed in here, you don’t feel like a stranger. You can come in, have a cup of tea, and people look after you.

It’s made me feel alive, feel like dancing again. I love life and I will go on living it for as long as I can!

I’ve been coming to Trinity for about three months and I haven’t got anything bad to say about it. I look forward to coming every Wednesday. I’d heard about Trinity but only that it was some place you come to die, but now I know it as a happy place that is making my health better – and I’m 93!"
