How we help Support for friends and families Emotional support for friends and families As a family member or friend of someone who has a life-limiting illness you may be experiencing a wide range of emotions and some may leave you feeling anxious and worried about how you are going to cope. Sometimes it can be difficult to talk to your family and friends about your feelings and you may find it helpful to talk to someone trained to listen and respond to your needs. Our team of social workers and counsellors can help you explore the issues troubling you and help you to find ways to cope. This might include things like how your relative’s illness and treatment has affected your relationship, difficulties at home and at work, communicating with others, facing and making decisions, spirituality, coping with loss and change, talking to children and planning for the future. Our team also offer support directly to children. We also run a range of activities to help you relax and reduce anxiety, including a relaxation group, Feel Good Days, yoga and an arts studio.
