About the role:

Our Fashion Assistant Volunteers support our Shop Managers in every aspect of the shop from providing excellent customer service, to researching stock and operating the latest touch screen tills. We rely entirely on the generosity of our donors, for this reason, we always go the extra mile to ensure the right value goes on to our unique pieces.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Greeting our customers and answering general enquiries
  • Using a touch screen till
  • Taking receipt of donations, sorting and preparing stock to sell
  • Processing Gift Aid donations and encouraging new Gift Aid donors
  • Providing assistance with visual merchandising
  • Maintaining shop floor standards
  • Assisting the Shop Manager with general tasks

Requirements and recommendations:

  • Applicants must be aged 16 and over

Mandatory Training:

  • Gift Aid training
  • Retail Induction (health and safety; customer service; till training; stock)
  • After interview, should applicants be successful, we will take up two references and expect candidates to complete some online training followed by a day induction. Volunteers within the hospice may require a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check completed; this check will be carried out free of charge by Trinity.
