About the role

Trinity’s employees work closely with administrative volunteers on a wide and changing range of tasks. Mostly desk-based, they work in teams such as:

  • Central services, i.e. finance, HR and reception
  • Fundraising campaigns
  • Volunteer Services
  • Patient and Family Support

We are currently looking for an experienced Admin Volunteer to support the Volunteer Services Team for a minimum of one day per week. This role needs to be fulfilled during the working week Monday to Friday but day worked is flexible.

Key responsibilities

  • Administrative tasks including; email, telephone, scanning, typing, filing and data entry
  • Diary management
  • Organising events and meetings
  • Database management, including running simple reports and working with spreadsheets

Requirements and recommendations

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Well-organised, efficient and enthusiastic
  • Confident with Microsoft Office applications with a basic competency level as per Trinity’s IT competency checklist (see appendix 1) Including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access. Certain roles may require job-specific software skills eg Raiser’s Edge for fundraising or online HR systems
  • Able to work independently and experience of team working
  • Discretion and tact, complete confidentiality
  • Trustworthy and reliable

You will be asked to attend an induction and a training programme before you start as an administrative volunteer.

Mandatory Training

All volunteers must attend a short induction and complete some online e-learning. This training is relatively quick and simple so volunteers can get started in their role as soon as possible

This role will require reference checks. Travel and lunch expenses are provided.

All volunteers receive a Volunteer handbook which sets out Trinity’s relationship and way of working with volunteers. This includes key policies and procedures.
