Isabel took on a sponsored cycle this summer in memory of her Granddad, who was cared for by Trinity in our inpatient unit this year. She tells us about her fundraising and why she decided to take on the challenge.

“So, I am cycling around my local park 73 times. I chose 73 because that is how old my Pops was. I also love cycling! The cycle is planned for 22 June.

I decided to fundraise for Trinity because my Pops was there being cared for. My mummy told me that the hospice care is free and has to raise lots of money to provide their services. I was then thinking, what could I do to help? I chose my cycle laps.

The care is really good there and all the nurses are very kind. I loved going to Trinity because the gardens are so nice and I really liked going to the pond.

I'm getting sponsored by lots of mummy’s friends but I also want to take my sponsor forms into school and ask my teachers and friends.

My Pops was a very special man who always made me laugh! I love him lots and wanted to do this because I know he and my mummy are very grateful for everything the hospice has done.”

Isabel's mum, Tammi, said: "I couldn’t praise Trinity any more if I tried. They made an awful situation bearable and allowed us to be with our Dad as family, not carers. Their support and advice was invaluable!"
