About the role:

Our learning and development team is responsible for ensuring effective support and development for Royal Trinity Hospice shop staff and volunteers.

We are looking for volunteers to help develop the learning and development programme that we offer to our staff and volunteers. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to gain experience in the learning and development or HR field.

Location: Royal Trinity Hospice shops office, Unit 1 Grange Mills, Weir Road, SW12 0NE

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Updating our records with details of courses and delegates
  • Compiling and sending out joining instructions
  • Creating and updating course materials
  • Assisting with new starter inductions
  • Assisting colleagues by completing reasonable tasks outside of the role when required

Requirements and recommendations:

  • Some learning and development experience is desirable but not essential
  • To have working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes
  • Dates and times to be agreed in advance with the Learning & Development Lead
  • Applicants must be aged 16 and over
  • To be trustworthy, reliable and a great team player
  • To have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • To have respect for Trinity’s policies and to act as an ambassador for the hospice
  • To have the ability to treat with confidentiality any information which is personal, private or sensitive

 Mandatory training: 

  • Retail induction (including health and safety)
  • After interview, should applicants be successful, we will take up two references and expect candidates to complete some online training. Volunteers within the hospice may require a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check to be completed; this check will be carried out free of charge by Trinity.
