Lorraine and her family and friends have taken on several challenges in aid of Trinity in the last few years – and they seem to be getting more and more exhilarating!

After taking on a 5km Colour Run with her family back in 2016, she followed it up with the Gauntlet Games and a 5km assault course. A year later, Lorraine took to the skies to take on a terrifying Wing Walk.

This year, Lorraine will be completing the longest zip line in Europe (and the fastest in the world!) in a bid to raise more funds for Trinity.

Lorraine told us about why she chooses to support Trinity in this way:

“Trinity helped my dad and my family and so I like to give something back to say thank you. I have always loved adventure and am always looking to do fun-filled things in my life so I thought why not raise money when I’m doing it?

When my Dad was on the inpatient unit at Trinity, everyone was amazing and always on hand for my two brothers, two sisters, myself and my dad. We were fed and watered and made to feel very comfortable at all times.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it felt like I had gained another family from the front of house staff to the nurses and even the volunteers like Ruby, who comes round to take your food orders.

We still pop to Trinity now and again for a coffee and to sit in the gardens and they are still just as welcoming.

Without Trinity, the journey would have been a lot harder. Trinity helped with everything from managing pain relief to educating us about my Dad’s cancer. They had the space to accommodate a large family visiting my Dad every day. This allowed us all to be together where as if he has stayed in his little flat we would have had to take it in turns to see him instead.

Trinity took a lot of pressure off and made me feel more united with my family than I ever had felt. Spending time together there made it easier to decide things for Dad’s funeral.”
