Management Accountant

Salary: £49,279 - £52,475

Hours:  Full time 37.5hrs p/w

Royal Trinity Hospice provides skilled, compassionate care and support to people with progressive, life-limiting illnesses and those close to them. We support people living in our central and south west London community, at home and at the hospice. 

Our business is complex: we have nearly 300 paid staff and over 500 volunteers working in the hospice and our 32 charity shops, and our turnover was over £15m last year.  But we also offer the ability to move quickly, to be entrepreneurial and creative.

We are looking for an experienced management accountant to join our team, supporting the Finance Director in delivering finance business support for Royal Trinity Hospice and Royal Trinity Hospice Shops Ltd.

This is a broad role covering management and annual statutory accounts, budgeting and forecasting, processes and controls and business partnering. You will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the finance team, including two direct reports.

Responsibilities of a Royal Trinity Hospice Management Accountant

  • Preparation of monthly management and annual statutory accounts for the charity and trading subsidiary.
  • Manage a team of two finance staff, including overseeing their development.
  • Annual budgeting and forecasting and monitoring financial performance against budgets.
  • Business partner, supporting budget holders with their financial and budgeting responsibilities.
  • VAT and Gift Aid returns.

Skills and experience required

  • Fully qualified CCAB accountant, preferably with experience working in the charity sector.
  • Good commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial results.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders including budget holders, senior management, auditors and HMRC.
  • Advanced excel skills.
