New Trustee appointments New Trustee appointments Following an extensive open recruitment process the following new trustee appointments have been confirmed by Trinity's board and take effect from 1 February 2021. Andrew Dillon* held a number of senior management positions in the NHS, including General Manager of the Royal Free Hospital and Chief Executive of St George’s Health Care NHS Trust. He was the founding Chief Executive of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence until 2020 and now works as an independent advisor. Angela Dawe* retired in early 2020 from Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust where she was Director Integrated Care and a member of the Board and Trust Management Executive. She was previously Chief Operating Officer at Lambeth Community Health. Angela has been a local Lambeth resident for over 30 years. Angela Marcelle was formerly Regional Operations Manager and part of the senior leadership team at Cancer Research UK for 16 years, responsible for over 100 shops and 3,000 volunteers in London and the South East UK. She previously held leadership roles at M&S and Mothercare. She is the founder of a smaller charity and volunteers for the Charity Retail Association. Arvind Tewari is COO of Oxford VR, a digital therapeutics business, having previously worked in private equity and investment banking. He has a Masters in Biochemistry where his thesis focused on Oncology. David Carmalt is a Managing Director and Head of Debt Capital Markets at Lloyds Banking Group. David has worked within capital markets and mergers and acquisitions functions for over 20 years, having started his career at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in 1998. He has been an active member of Trinity’s Fundraising Development Group since 2019. Jonathan Kembery is a Partner and General Counsel at Freshfields Bruckhaus Derringer LLP. He is a former trustee of Shooting Star Chase Children’s Hospices. Rochelle Roest* is Account Director at Healthcare at Home. She has 20 years healthcare experience, initially as a registered nurse within tertiary and social care settings and latterly in management roles with responsibility for the quality, safety and operational elements of clinical activities. Stefan Laban was formerly Global Head of International at Urban Outfitters, Senior Vice President International at Gap Inc. and Retail Director EMEA at Nike Inc. He is a non-executive director and advisor for several fashion / tech companies and a business mentor at the Prince’s Trust. *Andrew Dillon, Angela Dawe and Rochelle Roest will join Trinity’s Patient Services Committee. Trustee retirements Geraldine Waters who served for nine years as Chair of the Patient Services Committee and William Buller who served for five years on the Finance & Resources Committee are retiring from the board effective 1 February 2021. David Clarson and Felicity Harvey retired from the board in 2020 after nine years and five years respectively. Adrian Williams, Chairman of Royal Trinity Hospice said: “I’m delighted that such outstanding candidates have agreed to become trustees and I really look forward to working with them. Several recent and upcoming trustee retirements gave us the opportunity to renew and broaden our trustee bench while adding specific experience in areas relevant to our core operations.
