Not long till Christmas Fair number twelve thanks to Wandsworth Friends and their fleet of volunteer ‘Angels’ It’s been a long-standing partnership and an extremely successful one raising over £320,000 to date, with hundreds of people attending each year and an army of loyal volunteers helping to run it. Now, The Wandsworth Friends of Royal Trinity Hospice Christmas Fair is back again for another year with over 40 stall holders, silent auction and an exclusive prize draw. Trinity supporters can now book tickets to attend the two day event taking place on the 15 and 16 November 2022. The Wandsworth Friends along with their volunteers have been hosting Christmas fairs for over 30 years however this will be the twelfth in partnership with Royal Trinity Hospice. Affectionately referred to as the ‘Angels’, the volunteers take on a variety of roles to support the event. One volunteer is so committed, she is hoping to fly in especially from the USA to help. Money is raised through ticket sales, the prize draw, sponsorship from Knight Frank and individual donations. Stall holders paying for their “table” and giving 10% of their takings add to the amount raised. Chair Lucinda Harding-Rolls is extremely proud of the efforts of everyone involved in the event: “This year there is a great variety of stalls. Anyone coming can be assured they will find something for everyone: men, pets, your granny even! There are some novelty items too. One stallholder is selling cards which you can then plant after Christmas as they have seeds engrained within them. The fair wouldn’t be possible without my brilliant committee and the volunteers, all the little things they do from helping with get prizes for the silent auction, organising the mystery gifts for our Tree of Life and the ‘nearly new stall’. It’s a lot of work but a lot of fun too. We know Trinity is a special cause.” Shoppers will find stalls ranging from jewellery, stocking fillers, candles, clothes for men and women, decorations and the ‘nearly new stall’ where you can find something to suit all budgets. Gifts to suit all tastes and budgets Products made using mint grown at a Peppermint Farm in Wiltshire, Kenyan clothing and Kimonos as well as naturally composted horse manure for the gardener make up some of the more varied gifts on sale. Lucinda has visited Trinity many times over the years and has been impressed by “the work of the staff, the impressive range of facilities for patients and the feeling of calm within.” Grattan Thompson Royal Trinity Hospice Major Donor and Events Manager knows the support of Wandsworth Friends continues to be invaluable: “We are delighted that the Wandsworth Friends of Royal Trinity Hospice are once again hosting their Christmas Fair. Trinity is so grateful to the Wandsworth Friends for their astounding fundraising efforts. Not only is the fair the perfect place for all your Christmas shopping but all money raised goes towards Trinity’s free end of life care.
