Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall, visited Royal Trinity Hospice today to officially mark the beginning of its 125^th anniversary year. The Duchess has been Patron of the charity for 10 years.

During the visit, The Duchess met staff, volunteers and patients in Trinity’s Outpatient Centre and saw physiotherapy, complementary therapy, art therapy and relaxation group sessions in action. Following this, Her Royal Highness toured the Inpatient Unit and met patients and their families before joining donors, staff and volunteers at a reception where she unveiled a commemorative plaque and was presented with a posy by Reuben, the grandson of one of Trinity’s patients.

Dallas Pounds, Chief Executive of Royal Trinity Hospice, said, “I was delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall to Trinity at this important milestone for the charity. We are thrilled she has been able to see the range of support available at the hospice and to hear our exciting plans for the year ahead.”

Before leaving, The Duchess praised the hospice's efforts, saying: "Every time I come here I see something new. It seems to go from strength to strength. It's a pretty special place. You don't think of hospices as being uplifting, but you come here and you go out feeling better."
