Trinity’s Physiotherapist, Rebekah takes on the Tough Mudder! Rebekah Franklyn, one of Trinity’s expert Physiotherapists, will be taking on the 15K Tough Mudder Challenge in aid of the hospice. Our Therapies team do so much here at Trinity, from working with patients in our inpatient unit, at outpatient appointments and in patients’ homes. The team help people every step of the way with their expert care. Here's why Rebekah has decided to take on the Tough Mudder Challenge and what led her to join Royal Trinity Hospice: “On 24 September I will be taking on the 15K Tough Mudder as a birthday challenge for myself and to raise funds for Royal Trinity Hospice. When my Nana was diagnosed with terminal cancer in July 2012, she attended a hospice initially during the day to access support. They offered her full person care – taking into account her physical, psychological and spiritual needs. She was later admitted to the hospice where she died a most peaceful and dignified death. The support the hospice provided to my family and I both pre and post bereavement was immeasurable. Fast forward a few years to now where I have been working in palliative care for over 5 years. It is a privilege to work with patients and their loved ones at this very difficult time in their lives. Every day I see how beneficial these services are to the people that access them.” We’re wishing Rebekah the best of luck and will be cheering her on all the way!
