Palliative Medical Consultant, joint post between Royal Trinity Hospice and St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Fixed term locum Salary Band: Negotiable according to current consultant salary scale plus London Weighting Hours: Up to 10 PAs with a 1 in 6 second on call commitment (2% on call allowance). An exciting position is available for a locum consultant position working 10 PAs between Royal Trinity Hospice (6PAs) and St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (4PAs). The post is fixed term Maternity Cover, to commence as soon as possible after the 24th June 2021 and for a minimum of 12 months.You would join the well established medical team at both sites. Participation in training, audit and management is actively encouraged across both sites. About the role: For the 10 PA post there are 7.5 PAs providing direct clinical care and 2.5 PAs supporting professional activities (4 PAs at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust working with the Hospital Palliative Care Team and 6 PAs at Royal Trinity Hospice). Any candidate wishing to work less than 10PAs will be considered and the role adapted accordingly. At Trinity Hospice, the post holder will provide in-patient as well as community care. At St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust the post-holder will provide medical input to the multi-professional hospital support team. At both sites the post-holder will share with colleagues in the training and professional development of the Specialist Registrars. They will also be involved with the audit, research and teaching programmes. Skills and experience required: Experience in a wide range of palliative care settings Thorough knowledge of principles and practice of palliative care Enthusiasm for teaching MRCP, MRCGP, FRCR or FRCA Full registration with the GMC On or within six months of being on specialist register for Palliative medicine Knowledge/experience of Primary Care Sector Experience of training in research methodology Experience of clinical audit How to apply: To apply, please see the Royal Trinity Hospice website.
