About the role:

Volunteering with Royal Trinity Hospice is an exciting and rewarding experience. If you would like to join our team and support your local community by giving a few hours of your time each week please get in touch.

Our Retail Volunteer Driver will provide support to our shops and our retail office. You will be collecting and delivering goods within our shops network and assisting our warehouse team.

Location: Royal Trinity Hospice shops office, Unit 1 Grange Mills, Weir Road, SW12 0NE

Key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Delivering stock via your own van or car to our 30 Trinity shops around south and central London
  • Collecting donations from public or corporate donors
  • Collecting surplus stock from Trinity stores and delivering it to other stores and/or taking items to waste recycling facilities
  • Representing Trinity well at all times and providing excellent customer service
  • To ensure safe handling and manoeuvring at all times
  • To encourage Gift Aid sign ups
  • Treat with confidentiality any information which is personal, private or sensitive
  • Pleasant manner, both face-to-face and on the telephone
  • A great team player

Requirements and recommendations:

  • Hold a valid UK driving licence
  • Have your own vehicle, or permission to use a vehicle
  • Have road tax and insurance for your vehicle
  • Be trustworthy and reliable
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Be well organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • Have a good level of physical fitness
  • Have respect for the policies of Royal Trinity Hospice
  • Be able to support the overall aim of Royal Trinity Hospice and to act as an ambassador for the hospice
  • Commit to one day per week, or on an ad-hoc basis, to be arranged with our Product and Logistics Manager
