Royal Trinity Hospice has welcomed Sonia Henry as our Director of Nursing this week. This new role will provide executive leadership for our nursing workforce, leading our quality agenda and promoting excellence in our nursing care and continuous practice development.

Director of Nursing

Sonia has over 30 years of nursing experience in the NHS, working across the acute, primary care and adult community settings. Her specific areas of interest and expertise include nursing workforce, patient safety and outcomes, patient experience, governance, workforce planning, e-rostering, adult safeguarding, and evidence-based practice. Sonia joins Trinity following a role as Head of Nursing within Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust’s directorate of the care of older adults, stroke and palliative care.

I am looking forward to working closely with the nursing team in the Inpatient Unit and the Community team Specialist Nurses too.. I am proud to be a nurse  and the essential role we play in healthcare. I'm also looking forward  to working with colleagues within these amazing teams of occupational and physiotherapists, counsellors, consultants and many other specialists too, in supporting the delivery of outstanding patient care and experience at Royal Trinity Hospice."
