About the role

The volunteer will assist our lead volunteer in setting up and running the popular singing group. You will also help patients 1:1 if they require support with music sheets, and getting seated, etc. This role will be on Wednesdays from 1.30pm-3.00pm

Key responsibilities

  • Assisting the sing-a-long lead volunteer with setting up the Mulberry Room. This will include moving of chairs and tables.
  • Welcoming patients to the singing group and supporting patients from the café/reception area
  • Ensuring the Mulberry Room is tidy and presentable to patients
  • Assisting with clearing-up after the singing activity
  • Feeding back relevant information from patients to the outpatient co-ordinator
  • Other support as requested by the outpatient team and lead volunteer

You will be asked to attend an induction and will receive ongoing training as necessary.

Mandatory Training

All volunteers must attend a full day induction and complete four hours online e-learning. The volunteer induction covers communication skills, dealing with grief and loss, wheelchair skills, mobility, Dementia awareness and all the necessary information a volunteer needs prior to undertaking their role.

This role will require a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Check

All volunteers receive a Volunteer handbook which sets out Trinity’s relationship and way of working with volunteers. This includes key policies and procedures.
