At Trinity, we recognise that the death of someone in the family changes everything and affects everyone. Children often find coping with grief very difficult, and may process their feelings differently to adults.

Because of this, our Patient and Family Support team have launched Kaleidoscope, a bereavement group specifically for children aged 8-12. Ran by highly skilled professionals, this group aims to activities to equip children with a toolbox of coping strategies to support their emotional needs using practical and creative activities.

There will also be an informal group held in Trinity’s Mulberry Cafe for parents and guardians of children attending Kaleidoscope to participate in. We recognise that, at a time of grief, supporting a grieving child may seem overwhelming. This group hopes to help parents and guardians understand how their children may be grieving, meet other parents and guardians, and explore the topic of grief.

Kaleidoscope will launch on Thursday, January 24 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm in Trinity’s Mulberry Room and will run weekly for 8 weeks. There will be a one session break on February 21 for half term.
