Trinity is inviting our local community throughout south west and central London to come together in support of their local hospice at the Family Walk & Fun Day.

The event will bring together friends and families to raise funds for Trinity, which provides free palliative and end of life care to 2,500 patients and their families every year.

Taking place on Sunday 22 September, Trinity hopes to welcome 500 walkers of all ages along to the Family Walk & Fun Day. After taking on a 2, 5 or 8 mile sponsored walk, participants will soak up the carnival atmosphere of the Fun Day in Trinity’s award-winning garden where a bouncy castle, BBQ, face painting, magic shows, live music, and a licensed bar will be on offer.

New for this year’s Family Walk & Fun Day will be an option for participants to organise their own “Trek to Trinity” walk, finishing at the hospice. For groups walking in memory of a loved one, “Trek to Trinity” is an opportunity to design a walking route that takes in especially memorable or special places when remembering a loved one, before finishing at Trinity for the Fun Day.

Based on the edge of Clapham Common, but providing 80% of its care to patients in their own homes, Royal Trinity Hospice is the oldest hospice in the UK. It provides free palliative and end of life care to 2,500 people across south west and central London every year. For their families, Trinity is there every step of the way, providing expert support including specialist bereavement counselling for children.

It costs £15 million each year to deliver Trinity’s services, only one quarter of which is covered by NHS income. Funds raised from events like the Family Walk & Fun Day play a crucial role in allowing the hospice to continue providing free, expert care.

Chief Executive Dallas Pounds, said: "We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to Trinity for the Family Walk & Fun Day in September. It’s set to be a great day of fun and games for the whole family and is a brilliant opportunity to raise vital funds for us at the same time.

We hope we’ll welcome back old friends and dedicated supporters of Trinity, but I would also like to encourage anyone who has never visited us to register and come along. It would be fantastic to see some new faces amongst those we know so well.

At Trinity, we are dedicated to supporting our patients to live every moment they have left as fully as possible. What better way to raise money to help us do this than spend a day having fun with friends and family!

Please sign-up, help us spread the word and join us on Sunday 22 September. It’s going to be a great day out and will help support the vital care our nurses and support teams deliver day in day out. See you there!"
