Phillip Cuthell, Trinity fundraiser, tells us about an amazing milestone achieved by supporter Ben Harvey.

We are delighted to celebrate Ben Harvey, whose incredible Life in Full Swing campaign has raised £240,000 for Trinity and the Ickle Pickles Children’s Charity in the last two years.

Ben’s wife, Katie spent three weeks in Trinity’s inpatient unit in July 2017. To honour her memory and continue her legacy, Ben embarked on a massive challenge to raise £250,000 for Katie’s chosen charities.

Two years later, Ben is about to bring his campaign to an end and we are thrilled to announce that Life in Full Swing has almost reached his very ambitious target. With the monumental support and generosity of his friends and family, Ben has made an extraordinary contribution to our free care.

People have literally run up hills, down dales, crawled through foulness and on one case even cycled over water. Along the way I suddenly realised that the act of doing this was as good as any therapy and that the true genius of Life in Full Swing was to give me, our amazing daughters and her friends and family a purpose on which to focus their grief. I do not think I would be as happy now without this all. Thank you all” - (Ben Harvey)

This year at Trinity, we need to raise £11 million to supplement the funds we receive from the NHS. Ben’s dedication and the generosity of everyone involved in the Life in Full Swing campaign over the last two years, will make a big difference to us and our free services for those with life-limiting conditions and families like Ben’s in the future.

We feel incredibly grateful and honoured by Ben’s support and the Life in Full Swing campaign. Whether it’s a fundraising activity, a speech at one of our major events or promoting our work elsewhere, Ben really has gone above and beyond to support both Trinity and Ickle Pickles.

On behalf of all the nurses, doctors, support staff, volunteers, patients and families we care for, we would like to say a big thank you to Ben and everyone who has supported his fundraising journey.
