Ward Manager Band 7 Registered Nurse - AFC banding points 26-34

Salary:  £44,347 - £50,549 pa including HCA supplement

Hours: 37.5 per week

Royal Trinity Hospice is the oldest in the UK and we are looking for an exceptional Ward Manager to join our Inpatient Unit Management team. Our award-winning unit has 28 beds over two wards. Each ward has its own Ward Manager who embraces Trinity’s vision and values ensuring high quality care for patients. This role makes a real difference to the lives of people affected by life limiting conditions. You will work closely with our Head of Inpatient Services to inspire and motivate others to achieve high standards. You will lead the nursing team and ensure they are focused, competent and supported.

Responsibilities of a Royal Trinity Hospice Ward Manager

  • Ensure high quality nursing care.
  • Clinical expert.
  • Work closely with the Head of Inpatient Services (and deputise when required).
  • Lead and maintain a nursing culture, which is open to change, new ideas and concepts.
  • Commit to high standards of professional development for all.

Skills and experience required

  • NMC registration.
  • Band 6 and/or 7 experience with up to date knowledge and skills.
  • Leadership and management style consistent with a flexible, proactive approach.
  • Passionate about caring for adults with a life-limiting condition.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
