Ward Manager: Band 7 Registered Nurse 

Salary: AfC Band 7 (£45,780 - £51,393 pa) 

Hours: 37.5 per week

We’re looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic nurse to lead our team of inpatient nursing staff. This role involves leadership of the highest standard to ensure outstanding care for patients (and those close to them) and embedding Trinity’s vision and values in the workforce to help them realise their potential. Trinity makes a real difference to people living with a life-limiting condition.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven nurse to take the next step in their career in a supportive setting. What we are looking for is someone with the operational know-how and leadership skills to successfully manage the team and ensure excellent patient care. While experience of palliative and end of life care is desired, we are open to considering applicants looking to move from other specialities where they demonstrate a genuine interest in Trinity’s work and an ambition for professional development.

Responsibilities of a Royal Trinity Hospice Ward Manager

  • Provide inspirational operational leadership to the ward staff
  • Ensure patients have their care needs assessed with care implemented efficiently, and to the highest of standards
  • Ensure effective interdisciplinary practice
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders and ensure bed occupancy is maintained at agreed levels
  • Commit to a culture of continuous improvement

Skills and experience required

  • Up to date NMC registration.
  • Senior experience, supported by relevant professional knowledge and skills.
  • The ability to lead or manage with a flexible approach and proactive mindset.
  • A passion for caring for adults with a life-limiting condition, with a real commitment to delivering the highest level of care at all times.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels within the organisation
