Help James Piper fund a Community Nurse for an entire year Donate For the past six years, I have had the privilege of serving as a Trustee and Treasurer of Royal Trinity Hospice. Over that time, I have seen first-hand the extraordinary difference Trinity makes to people facing some of life's most difficult moments. Almost 90% of Trinity's care is delivered in people's own homes. Home is where most people want to be. It is where they feel safe, connected, and surrounded by the people and places that matter most. For many, it is also where they wish to spend their final days. Making this possible are Trinity's Community Nurses. They walk through the front door, sit at the bedside, listen, reassure, manage symptoms, support families, and bring calm to moments that can feel overwhelming. Their work is expert, compassionate, and absolutely essential. Support our Community care As I step down, I want to leave something meaningful behind. My hope is to help fund one or more Community Nurses for one year. It feels like the most fitting way to honour what I’ve witnessed: the power of being cared for at home, and the difference it makes to patients and families. It costs around £50,000 to fund a nurse in our community for a year. Will you support their care? £100 could fund a Community Nurse for a day £1,000 could help fund a Community Nurse for a week £4,100 could fund a Community Nurse for a month £12,500 could support a Community Nurse at Trinity for an entire season Why your support matters now Trinity provides all of its care free of charge. While they receive some NHS funding, it does not cover the full cost of hospice care. As demand for their services continues, funding gaps put pressure on the very thing that matters most: the ability to provide care properly, without rushing, for the increasing number of people who need us. Support our care Thank you James from all of us at Trinity for your support and essential work “James has made an exceptional contribution to Trinity during his time as Treasurer, bringing both financial expertise and a deep commitment to our mission. His thoughtful stewardship has helped ensure the long‑term sustainability of our services, enabling us to continue providing outstanding care to those who need it most.
