Dallas Pounds - Chief Executive Officer

A palliative care nurse by background and with vast experience of the sector, Dallas joined Trinity in 2013. Previous senior management roles were held at Terrence Higgins Trust and at Buckinghamshire PCT. As CEO she endeavours to inspire and motivate those she works with. In 2015 she won the award for "Rising Chief Executive Officer" at the Third Sector Annual Awards in recognition of her contribution at the helm of Trinity and also in the wider hospice sector.  One of her strategic aims is for Trinity to be at the forefront of palliative care. Her "business head on a charity heart" motto ensures that Trinity has a sustainable future within an ever changing healthcare environment. Dallas is passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion. Outside of Trinity, she is a trustee of Greensleeves which manages more than 20 care homes across England. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Senior Associate of The Royal Society of Medicine.

Clare Montagu

Clare Montagu  - Chief Operating Officer

Clare joined Trinity in 2014 having been a service director for over three years at Terrence Higgins Trust, responsible for its HIV and sexual health services across London and the South East.  Before switching to operational leadership and management, Clare spent over a decade in a range of policy and political roles in Whitehall and Westminster. During that time she was Special Adviser to Rt Hon Alan Johnson MP when he was Home Secretary, Health Secretary and Education Secretary in the last Labour government. In addition to her role at Trinity, Clare is a trustee at the youth homelessness charity, Centrepoint.

Sam Lund - Medical Director

Sam has worked in a wide variety of settings across London including both the acute and independent sectors. She joined Trinity Hospice in 2010 having completed her specialist training. Sam is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and has a postgraduate MA in Ethics.  She is passionate about individualised patient care.

Martin Powell

Martin Powell - Director of Patient Services

Martin joined Trinity in 2015 with 23 years of healthcare experience; as a paramedic and as a senior manager in 2 other hospices.  He has a keen interest in research and is currently working towards a PhD in Palliative Care.

Hazel Borthwick - Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development

Originally training as a nurse at St Thomas’ Hospital, Hazel went on to specialise in anaesthetics before designing and running the anaesthetic nursing course at the University of Greenwich. Returning to clinical practice as a senior nurse manager at the independent charitable King Edward VII’s Hospital she then went on to become Director of HR after setting up and managing their first HR Department. More recently Hazel has spent two years working in the commercial sector at the Bupa Cromwell Hospital before joining Trinity in October 2016. Hazel is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and is passionate about making a difference and delivering an operational service that enables delivery of excellence in patient care.

Liesel Payne - Finance Director

Liesel is a qualified chartered accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. She joined the Royal Trinity Hospice in October 2016.  She has extensive experience working in finance departments as a Financial Controller, including in her last role at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth, whose profits contribute to the running of St John’s Hospice.  Prior to that she worked for GSTS Pathology LLP (now Viapath Group LLP), joining on the day that it could over running the complete pathology service for Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.  She is passionate about supporting decision making from a financial perspective to ensure value for money so that Trinity can continue to make a difference to people’s lives.

Ben Ansell - Head  of Fundraising

Ben has over ten years of fundraising experience working in events, community, corporate and team management roles for a range of small, medium and national organisations including the British Heart Foundation and Oxfam GB. Directly before joining Trinity Ben spent two years managing trusts and grant fundraising for several charities in Sussex. He has a degree in business and recently gained a certificate in marketing qualification from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Andrew Adair - Director of Retail

Andrew joined Trinity on leap year day in 2016 after seven and a half years working as Director of Retail at Scope.  In his final year, Scope Retail delivered record profits and received the Charity Retail Association awards for 'outstanding charity retailer of the year' and 'innovation in charity retail'. Prior to this, Andrew worked for a decade at Cancer Research UK, primarily as Head of Retail Operations, but also as Head of Race for Life. He is passionate about the difference Trinity makes to people's lives and the important role that Retail plays in delivering our vision.
