Dr Jenny Vaughan OBE

25 Jun 1968 - 31 Mar 2024

Jenny spent her life serving others, whether that was by friendships, in her work as a consultant neurologist, or by her various campaigns, especially supporting doctors facing difficulties. At the same time, she was a loving wife and mother of two boys, great fun to be around and committed in her Christian faith. Jenny was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer in 2017 and was treated with surgery, many different drugs and several courses of radiotherapy. These treatments and Jenny's faith & sheer determination allowed her to live as well as possible until 2023, when she found out that the cancer had spread to the brain. As a brilliant neurologist, the effects of the tumours on Jenny's brain were perhaps experienced with a particular emotional intensity and she knew that this would be her final challenge. When it became apparent that the treatment was not working, we turned to the Royal Trinity Hospice community team for support. They were absolutely brilliant and fulfilled Jenny's desire to stay at home until she passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, 31st March 2024. Nothing was too much trouble and Jenny was always at the heart of everything they did. Please donate generously to enable them to help others like Jenny.
