This week we are celebrating Volunteers’ Week! The annual, national recognition and thanks event for volunteers. 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of Volunteers’ Week and it’s a great way to mark everything that volunteers do across the UK.

At Trinity, 400 people regularly give up their time to volunteer in a variety of roles, including in our charity shops, on the Inpatient Unit, in the hospice garden, in the café, with outpatient groups, as a Compassionate Neighbour and even from home. That’s around 2,000 hours of volunteering on an average week!

Volunteering is a great way to help a local cause, meet new people, gain confidence and develop new skills and experience. If you are interested in volunteering with Trinity you can view all of our current opportunities and apply for them on our volunteer roles page.

Since the pandemic, more working-age people are trying to fit volunteering in around their existing commitments, so this year, we have introduced new ways for people to volunteer flexibly with Trinity, such as the fashion repair volunteer. This role can be completed from home and can fit in easily around other commitments. If you have a specific skill and or interest that you would like to share as a Trinity volunteer, but can’t see anything relevant listed on the website, feel free to get in touch with the volunteering team.
