The care and support that we offer our patients’ family and friends is not over once their loved one has died. Our Bereavement team is on hand to offer formal and informal group and individual support family members, friends, children, and carers through the emotional impact of grief. There is no time limit for this support. Understanding and coping with bereavement can be very difficult for children and young people. This is why we offer bereavement support specifically for them. We also provide guidance to parents and carers on how to explain death and grief to children and offer advice to help families and teachers support a child or young person through this experience. The Bereavement team also organises events throughout the year that allow bereaved families, friends, and carers to remember, celebrate and reflect upon the lives of those who have died. Take a look at the pages below for more information about what we can offer.
