Our Shops

We're Royal Trinity Hospice, London's answer to sustainable fashion.

We think our charity shops are some of the best around. Come and visit us soon!

We are proud to introduce RESHIRTED | EDIT 01, the very first capsule collection from The Renewal Lab at Royal Trinity Hospice. What began as a simple question, what more could we do with donated clothing that could not be sold, has grown into a creative and collaborative new approach to circular fashion.

Over the past year, six incredible volunteers been at the heart of this journey. Seamstresses, pattern cutters, textile specialists, artists and students have all come together to repair and revive donated clothes. Through careful alterations and thoughtful mending, they have already helped extend the life of hundreds of items.

But we knew there was an opportunity to go further.

Instead of focusing only on repair, we began to rethink the process. What if clothes that were beyond resale could be transformed into something entirely new?

One of a kind Fashion

Created from shirts generously donated by The Shirt Company, each piece in the collection has been reworked over six months into something entirely unique.

No two pieces are the same.

From reimagined silhouettes and visible mending to playful hand painted details such as sardines, tomatoes and chillies, every piece has been carefully crafted to give it a new life and identity. Each shirt is handmade, turning surplus stock into something desirable, wearable and full of character.

To mark the launch, we welcomed the volunteers who brought this collection to life into our Portobello shop, alongside some very special partners. It was a joyful and meaningful morning, seeing the collection displayed together, meeting the people behind each piece and celebrating everything that has gone into bringing it to life.

We were honoured to be joined by Donna Middleton, Founder of The Shirt Company, whose donated shirts were the starting point for the collection. She shared:

“What Royal Trinity Hospice has created is such a thoughtful and creative example of making fashion circular and having a positive impact on our world and environment. And The Shirt Company is incredibly proud to be part of that story.”

We were also delighted to welcome Sarah Robbins, Textile Specialist at WRAP, an environmental organisation working to support the shift to a circular way of living. Royal Trinity Hospice is a member of the UK Textiles Pact and this project is a powerful example of those principles in action.

As Sarah explained:

“It is just so fantastic to see circular business models such as repair and upcycling in action here, keeping more clothes out of landfill, giving them a second life and more value, and working collaboratively across their community and partners to keep clothing in use for longer.”

RESHIRTED | EDIT 01 is only the beginning.

The Renewal Lab is growing into a programme that brings people, skills and creativity together to give donated clothing a new life and create pieces that people genuinely want to wear.

This first edit shows what is possible. The next step is to keep experimenting and building on this momentum.

If you would like to be part of what comes next, we would love to hear from you. We are always looking for volunteers to join the Renewal Lab. If you have a creative background or experience in textiles or fashion, and can spare some time, please get in touch.
