If you love browsing our Royal Trinity Hospice shops, let us introduce you to your new favourite stop: Common Cause Café, our charity café tucked inside the historic Georgian hospice on Clapham Common North Side.

And this June, we’re celebrating something special…It’s our 1st Birthday!

From your morning coffee to your post-thrift treat, we’ve loved being part of your days this past year, and we can’t wait for many more.

Your coffee works wonders.

We’re incredibly proud to be the only charity café in Clapham. Just like our shops, 100% of the profits from Common Cause Café supports Royal Trinity Hospice.

Trinity needs to raise £13 million each year to continue our work, and every coffee, pastry, salad or slice of cake helps fund the free specialist end of life care we provide across our London community.

Since opening in 2025, you’ve helped us serve over 12000 hot drinks, 3500 pastries, 5500 sandwiches and 1600 slices of cake, and every single one has contributed to this cause.

So, when you stop by for a coffee after browsing the rails, you’re not just taking a break, you’re making a difference.

Good coffee, low impact

As you know, we take sustainability seriously in our shops (we’ve even won awards for it), so Common Cause is no different.

From serving B Corp certified Ozone Coffee, to using biodegradable Huskee cups, to furnishing the café with recycled and refurbished pieces from Raw Workshop, every detail has been chosen so that your visit has a big impact for Trinity, not the planet.

This is your space

Common Cause is here for the whole community. Whether you’re grabbing your morning coffee, stopping in after a shopping day, working remotely (yes, we’re coworking-friendly), walking the dogs, or visiting loved ones at the hospice, Common Cause is your space. A calm, welcoming place to pause, recharge, meet, work, or simply take a moment for yourself.

Common Cause turns 1 on Friday, 26 June, and we’ll be celebrating all week from Monday, 22 to Saturday, 27 June

To mark the occasion, we’re offering a little birthday treat:
